We have been at the forefront of facilitating functions of the ECSACO-East Central & Southern Africa College of Oncologists by initiating collaborations and registration between members across the region. From 19th November 2021, ECSACO Members were hosted in Arusha (Tanzania).
The hybrid virtual and physical meeting held at the ECSA-HC headquarters brought together oncologists from Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique, Zambia and Malawi who were able to review reports on the milestones achieved, plan on the College’s operations and growth prospects, and discuss strategies to steer the College ahead.
The opening ceremony was officiated by Prof. Yoswa, the Director-General of the East Central & Southern Africa Health Community (ECSA-HC) Dambisya and chaired by Prof. Fredrick Chite Asirwa, the College’s President and Executive Director of the International Cancer Institute (ICI). The team from ICI included Bonnie Oduor (Director of Operations and Head of Training, Research, Data & ICT at ICI and Chief Operating Officer & Coordinating/Administrative Secretary at ECSACO) and Dr. Makori (Clinical Oncologist) were also present.
