Margaret Wangeshi Otieno was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer in 2013. She was able to receive partial treatment in her county but had to complete the rest of her workup and treatment in another country due to various resource limitations. Margaret hopes that one day everyone, wherever they live, will have access to the care they deserve and the world becomes cancer-free.

 

“Cancer is not a death sentence. I have gone through it, and am still alive and well years after. There is hope, and you must have a positive attitude. I would like to encourage you all to get screened and examined frequently because it is better to prevent cancer than cure it.”
