8th EMPOWER Clinic Launch in Kakamega County

Today, the 8th EMPOWER Cancer Clinic in the country was launched in Kakamega County at Kakamega County Referral Hospital. This was led and officiated by H.E Priscillah Oparanya (First Lady Kakamega County) and H.E Governor Wycliffe Oparanya (Governor of Kakamega County). Implementing and strategic partners in the project include the County First ladies Association (CFLA), Roche, International Cancer Institute (ICI), Women4Cancer, and Africa Cancer Foundation.

The Enabling and Motivating Partnership Owned by Women to Engage and Reclaim their lives (EMPOWER) project seeks to promote cancer prevention, early diagnosis, screening, and enhancement of cancer care systems in the country. ICI will provide continuous professional/technical support, diagnostic and pathology services, and sharing of standards of cancer care and control through bi-weekly virtual tumor boards and other regular clinical care engagements.#FirstLadies #CFLA #EMPOWER #Kakamega #standuptocancer #cancerawareness #cancerprevention #earlydetection #cancerscreening #optimaltherapies #cancersurvivors
