Today is World Cancer Day, a uniting initiative led by the @UICC – Union for International Cancer Control. By raising awareness, improving education, and catalysing action, we are all working to reduce the burden of cancer and improve outcomes. While we live in a time of advancements in cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, there are many inequities and barriers impeding optimal care for many patients.
This year’s theme of “Close the Gap”, is all about identifying those and addressing them to ultimately reduce needless morbidity, mortality, and other social, financial, and psychological damages. Let us raise awareness and be part of the necessary actions needed to change the narrative.
