Today, the 12th EMPOWER Cancer Clinic was launched in Nandi County (Kenya) at Kapsabet County Referral Hospital. This was led and officiated by H.E. Sheila Sang (First Lady of Nandi County) and H.E. Stephen Sang (Governor of Nandi County). The Enabling and Motivating Partnership Owned by Women to Engage and Reclaim their lives (EMPOWER) project seeks to promote cancer prevention, early diagnosis, screening, and enhancement of cancer care systems in the country.
Implementing and strategic partners for the clinic included the County First Ladies Association (CFLA), The Ministry of Health of Kenya, the County Government of Nandi, Roche, Women4Cancer, Africa Cancer Foundation, and International Cancer Institute (ICI).
We will continue to provide continuous professional/technical support, diagnostic and therapeutic services, and sharing of standards of cancer care and control through bi-weekly virtual tumor boards and other regular clinical care engagements at the clinic and the other EMPOWER clinics.
