13TH EMPOWER Clinic Launch (Kirinyaga County)

Yesterday, the 13th EMPOWER Cancer Clinic was launched in Kirinyaga County (Kenya) at Kerugoya County Referral Hospital. This was led and officiated by H.E. Kamotho Waiganjo (First Gentleman of Kirinyaga County) and H.E. Anne Waiguru (Governor of Kirinyaga County).

The Enabling and Motivating Partnership Owned by Women to Engage and Reclaim their lives (EMPOWER) project seeks to promote cancer prevention, early diagnosis, screening, and enhancement of cancer care systems in the country. Implementing and strategic partners for the clinic included the County First Spouses Association, The Ministry of Health, County Government Of Kirinyaga, Roche, Women4Cancer, Africa Cancer Foundation, Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), and International Cancer Institute (ICI).

We will continue to provide continuous professional/technical support, diagnostic and therapeutic services, and sharing of standards of cancer care and control through bi-weekly virtual tumor boards and other regular clinical care engagements at the clinic and the other EMPOWER clinics.
